Play-Based Child Counselling

We provide child counselling to children aged 5 and above. Our approach involves Child-Centered Play-Based Counselling and is trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming. This is an age-appropriate and non-confrontational environment for children to express challenges, explore their thoughts and feelings, and develop coping skills.

Play-based sessions involve using toys, games, and other age-appropriate creative techniques to help children communicate and process their emotions with concrete materials. It allows them to express themselves in a way that feels natural and enjoyable, rather than feeling intimidated or overwhelmed.

Child counselling supports children in:

  • Trauma management and debriefing
  • Anxiety and stress management
  • Improving social skills
  • Interpersonal relationship and boundary management
  • Emotional regulation strategies
  • Problem-solving
  • Loss and bereavement
  • PDA management and regulation
  • Self-esteem
  • Autism and neurodiversity support

Child sessions are tailored to be as fun as possible. Therapy should be something your child looks forward to and a space where they feel comfortable.
